Our crops team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of plant production—from soil preparation and planting to harvesting and post-harvest management. These experts understand the nuances of sustainable crop production and work diligently to ensure that every acre of land is optimized for maximum yield and quality.
- Agronomists and Soil Scientists: These specialists analyze soil health, plan crop rotations, and recommend organic fertilizers to ensure that the soil remains fertile and productive. Their research is instrumental in transitioning our fields from traditional maize to high-value crops such as avocados, mangoes, and bananas.
- Irrigation Experts: Working closely with our partners at Irico Company, our irrigation specialists ensure that water is used efficiently. They oversee the installation and maintenance of advanced irrigation systems, which are critical to achieving year-round production.

2. Poultry Management Team
The poultry team at YEGEN FARM is tasked with ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of our bird population. With operations that include breeding, hatching, rearing, and processing, this team works meticulously to maintain high standards throughout the poultry production cycle.
- Veterinarians and Poultry Health Specialists: These experts are responsible for the health and welfare of our birds. They monitor conditions in our state-of-the-art hatcheries and poultry houses, administer vaccinations, and implement biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Breeding and Hatchery Staff: Trained in advanced techniques such as artificial insemination (with support from Egerton University), our breeding team ensures that we maintain robust and healthy parent stock. The hatchery staff manages our facilities with capacities of 30,000 eggs and 10,000 hatchers, ensuring a steady supply of quality chicks.
- Processing and Quality Control Professionals: In our modern slaughtering and processing units, these professionals ensure that all poultry products meet strict hygiene and quality standards. Their dedication to excellence guarantees that our products reach customers in optimal condition.

3. Dairy Production Team
Our dairy team is the backbone of our high-yield milk production system. They manage everything from herd health and nutrition to milking, storage, and quality control. Their expertise ensures that every drop of milk produced meets rigorous standards for freshness and quality.
- Dairy Farmers and Herd Managers: These professionals oversee the welfare and productivity of our herd, which has grown from 50 cows to 250 mature cows along with over 70 calves. They implement modern feeding strategies and ensure that each cow receives the care needed to produce high-quality milk.
- Milking Technicians: Responsible for operating modern milking machinery, these technicians maintain the hygiene and efficiency of the milking process. They ensure that milk is collected, stored, and transported under conditions that preserve its freshness.

Their rigorous protocols ensure that only the best milk reaches our processing partners, such as the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries (NKCC).

4. Apiary and Beekeeping Team

- Apiarists and Beekeeping Experts: These specialists manage our hives, which have grown significantly from an initial 23 to a robust operation that meets increasing demand. They are experts in using Kenya Top Bar Hives (KTBH) and other modern beekeeping techniques that maximize honey production while ensuring the health of the bees.
- Quality Control and Processing Staff: Responsible for the careful harvesting and processing of honey, this team ensures that every jar of honey is pure, unadulterated, and of the highest quality. They adhere to strict hygiene standards, preserving the natural flavors and benefits of our honey.
